John RichardI’m relative newcomer to the world of gaming. I grew up playing traditional card games with my family, which is probably where I first became a lover of games. In college, I discovered Magic: the Gathering. I had never played anything like it before in my life, and it quickly became a mild obsession. In 2005 I attended my first Gen Con, and my life would never be the same! I was exposed to the wide world of hobby gaming, and I’ve never looked back! Now I’m an active player of board games, card games, and roleplaying games. I even bring out the Magic cards every once in a while.
In August of 2008, along with my good friend Cody Jones (who I met through a local Gen Con fan group), I started a biweekly podcast about gaming called “Game On! with Cody and John”. I’ve had a blast getting to know other great podcasters such as Tom Vasel, Stephen Conway, David Coleson, Don Dehm, and many others.
I live in Indianapolis, Indiana with my wife Rachel and our two beautiful children, Ethan (age 6) and Erin (age 3). I work as a research scientist at a major pharmaceutical company, and I’m also the sound engineer at my church.
