Jim Reed - Born 1975 in the small country-city of Waynesboro Virginia. In 1985 I moved to South Jersey where I currently live, in the historic town of Mount Holly. (If you've ever lived or been to New Jersey, you'd know why I said "south" Jersey. We consider ourself a whole seperate state from north Jersey!) I've been married since 1995 and have a son, Quinn, and a daughter, Avory.

Gaming has been a big part of my life ever since I was a child. At the early age of 7, when I wasn't playing my Atari 2600 or blowing up army men with firecrackers, I was scrounging up coins to sit in on my families weekly poker nights or playing Bingo with my aunts down at the fire house. Mille Bornes and Gin Rummy were also family favorites and played often.

I pretty much ran the gambit on all the popular Milton Bradley/Parker Bros/Hasbro games growing up. Yes, I played a ton of Monopoy, Life, Trouble, Stratego, Battleship, Uno, and Clue to name a few. Boy what I would do to have my Fireball Island game again. (well, not pay what it goes for on E-bay) Some of my other memorable gaming moments were the all-night Risk tournaments, the weekend long Dungeons and Dragons sessions, and the hundreds of games of Boggle played over my aunt Bobby's house.

What really changed things around was about three years ago (0r 2005 depending on when you're reading this) I purchased the Heroscape master set for my son for Christmas, along with a few extra boosters. (We had previously tried Hero-clix but never really got into it) Well, we became instantly hooked on Heroscape and within six months I had picked up every thing I could find related to the game. I began spending time on Heroscapers.com and listening to the Scapetalk podcast. One episode, Truth had a special guest on by the name of Tom Vasel. Tom was talking about his love for Heroscape and the he also did a podcast called The Dice Tower.

Through The Dice Tower (and eventually other boardgame podcast as well) I started learning about all these awesome "designer" (or "underground" I say) games that are out there. Now, boardgaming is a huge part of my life where video games have taken the backshelf role. I believe the social aspect is what has really drawn me in. That and the fact that my family has really embraced board gaming as well. I now host bi-weekly game nights at my house and have recently started a monthly game night at my church.

Finally, outside of gaming, I am a Royal Ranger commander in my church. I am a huge sports lover. (Hail to the Redskins!) I love camping, fishing, movies, music, reading, ect.ect.ect. I am also a partner in a haunted attraction here in Mount Holly at the Historic Burlington County Prison Museum. www.prisonmuseum.net. My name on BGG and (Xbox Live) is Darthpilgrim.

Jim puts together the show notes for the Dice Tower, and also does interviews with gaming notables.
